Many years ago I used to spend hours with a man whom at the time I considered to be a modern day incarnation of Socrates. I was a young Philosophy major at the time full of new high faluttin ideas about the cosmos and such. One day I walked into his office and we were talking about the concept of the “Ends Justifying the Means”  and as we were talking he asked my what my definition of a fascists was. I can’t remember my answer but of course as a young grasshopper it was not what my philosophical master had in mind, so he corrected me. A fascist he said is: “Someone who treats other people as if they are objects. They have no regard for their humanity and have no reservation about doing whatever is necessary to achieve their means. A fascist will murder innocents, torture, lie, cheat and steal to achieve their end”. And so here we are.
