Educating Americas Educational Leadership

America’s Devastating Failure to Educate our Educational Leadership with  host Richard Heffner is provided by PBS.  In this video Richard Heffner talks to Arthur Levine, President of the Teachers College about what can and should be done to improve the effectiveness of academic administration.

Admittedly this video is a bit more mainstream then the bulk of the content here on The Project Camelot Channel, but this subject is one that really gets very little discussion so when I found it I decided to include it as part of the video library just for that reason. Not to mention the fact that I was personally curious about what kind of ideas were coming out of academia for improving the management and administration of public education.

After watching this video I’m not anymore hopeful then I was 28 minutes earlier, but that’s my opinion. You may hear something here that I missed and find hope in what Mr Levine suggests.

What I do find interesting is Mr. Heffners opening remarks : “Our subject today is America’s devastating failure to educate our educational leadership.” Translated he’s saying that the people running the schools system ain’t doing the job? Haven’t been cutting it. Don’t know what they’re doing? You fill in the blanks.  Either way y our comments are invited and welcomed.
